A few years ago I lost part of the family. It is hard because your pets are part of your lives. They greet you everyday. They love you no matter what and they give you much joy. Timber was such a good girl and there are still days when I miss her. She lived 13 great years and when cancer hit her suddenly and she was in so much pain we had to make the decision on if we end her pain. A death of a pet is hard when they have been part of the family for so long.
I have to say this is so much harder. When you lose a pet and don't know if they are out there suffering, scared, hurt and you can not find them. It is a lot harder than just losing a pet to death. At times I question myself did I look hard enough. What could I have done differently to have prevented this?
She wanted outside. Which is normal for her. She goes in and out a lot while I am home. I was at my computer paying bills. I heard her bark and so I went to the door to let her in. When I opened it she was no where to be found. The new neighbor has been doing construction in the house and using a lot of power tools. For some reason this has been freaking her out and she shakes and wants to be right next to me. I searched every where. I think I searched all these places like 10 times over. I had six neighbors helping me find her. Over 2 hours and no results, how could this have happened. She has never wondered far, never, ever. If she leaves the yard she always returns. This is when I know I need to put her collar for the invisible fencing back on to keep her in the yard. I just don't understand how this could have happened. It all went to so quick. I have posted her picture on facebook and plenty of people are spreading the word of her missing but I have small hope that she will be found. It has almost been 24 hours now. I have to say this is much harder, not knowing.
I received false hope. Oh my Gosh! Is this how it is going to be. Someone found a dog this morning and it was a Yorkie. The radio station had information. I frantically tried to get a hold of someone at the station. Again using Facebook and friends about an hour later I got the information and called the people that found the Yorkie. It was not Jetson.
